AI Is the Ozempic of the Creative Process

· 1 min read

A friend (who is a writer) just showed me a website that will write a book for you.

WHY WOULD A WRITER WANT TO OUTSOURCE HIS OWN WRITING???

Are we humans becoming so lazy that we can't even bear to handle the creative process itself?

Why rob ourselves of the joy of the creative process?... The rewarding moment of sitting back and gazing upon an entire book we wrote from scratch.

The badge of honor shouldn't be "I wrote this in a day using AI."

It should be "I wrote this without AI, 100% entirely human made, by my own hands."

Maybe "Human made" will be the new selling point for creations.

These AI tools remind me of the quick fix, diet pill culture, that is weakening society as a whole. It's the Ozempic for the creative process.

You could be a human and have good healthy human habits like:

Or have AI do it for you so you have more free time to do the dishes.

The choice is yours.

PS: For what it's worth, I am 100% in favor of AI tools to support the creative process. AI image generation is so fun and useful in its own way, as are AI text generators for ideation and writing support. But for the love of the creation gods themselves, don't outsource the whole thing!
