The human mind evolved to handle a small tribe of people and spending the evening eating blueberries and sharing stories around the fire...
Not consuming a fire hydrant of information and ads every single day, without a moment to pause and process the onslaught of information.
No wonder analog products are becoming more popular, vinyl records, film photography, etc... running clubs, in person experiences, wellness events with ice baths and coffee.
I've known from day 1 that I make art that I want to enjoy, in hopes that other people will also enjoy it.
Yet, it dawned on me the other day that I am also making art that brings a sense of calm to my day.
In a world of distraction and noise, my paintings calm me. They are a space to settle, to let my mind wander a bit, to process the events of my life.
Living among Continuum 1 (which I'm lucky to be able to store in my own living room until someone collects this piece) has helped me experience the calming power of this piece.
