Choosing Love Over Fear

I’ve been quite unsure about sending this email… hence sending it a few days late…

Running an art business is like sailing in the open ocean, at night, with no guidance systems. It’s making the best decisions possible with no roadmap and limited information.

But this morning it dawned on me…

The whole reason I’m an artist right now…

The reason I quit my corporate job 10 years ago…

The reason I went backpacking in South America for a year, worked as a photographer, started selling my art, & much, much more…

Has been because I chose the path of love, not fear.

I could have stayed in corporate… but that would have been because I feared failing at something else… or feared having less financial security…

I wouldn’t have stayed because I loved being there. Love had me quit & live life on my own terms.

All of my major life decisions have been made by this love/fear method.

Or should I do it because I love to see my art in other people’s homes?

Or because of the messages I get from people telling me how they ongoingly have deep emotional experiences with their paintings...

how much it lifts the vibe of their home...

helps them sleep better...

the compliments they get...

or simply… how much they love them.

I’m choosing love.

If you’ve been on the fence about getting a painting of mine… this is a great time.

Offer valid for commissions too (which will start in January).

Love,

PS: Fun fact - I usually write these emails by hand while journaling in the morning... with my fountain pens, of course. With blue ink, of course.
