The Series I Was Too Scared to Share

(Sharing these paintings and the story behind them feels like opening up my diary to the world... the vulnerability is real y'all.)

If you've ever wondering why you're here... What's your purpose? How can you feel real happiness, love, and peace? Then this series is for you.

10 years ago I walked out of my cubicle from a predictable and stable job in the corporate world, and booked a one way ticket to Costa Rica.

I wanted to experience more purpose and happiness in my life, and I thought that leaving and going backpacking for a year would bring me answers.

After that trip, I was considering what to do next for work, and I thought that working as a freelance photographer was the most aligned to my purpose thing I could do, and the freedom would bring me peace and happiness. That was in 2017.

To make a long story short, I didn't find the answers.

My latest theory is that we never figure it out. The point of it all is to continue searching, and enjoy the search itself.

Especially in today's age of instant access to all the answers we could ever want thanks to the internet and AI.

We have this infatuation with information and answers, as if reading the right tweet will solve our problems.

But I digress.

This series is about the Search For Answers we all experience only all the time in our quest for living a better life.

I created these compositions and colors to bring a sense of peace and understanding to the viewer, and to help you experience a bit of grace in your journey of life.

I chose to create 4 pieces on the four topics that have been most present for me so far:

What is my purpose? How do I live in peace? How can I be truly happy? How can I feel more love?

If you resonate with this quest, I invite you to explore the series visually in this 7-minute YouTube video where I discuss my journey from corporate to artist, the inner work along the way, my philosophical and spiritual beliefs on these topics, and my explanation of each of the 4 compositions and how they fit with the 4 themes.

I also show some behind the scenes footage of me working in my studio on these 4 pieces. Watch this video: youtu.be/S1aHFnFSvZU

Check out more detailed images of the paintings here, and as always, email me to inquire about the pieces.

Thank you for being here, for sharing in this search.
