One

I created One soon after is Israel / Hamas / Palestine conflict broke out in the fall of 2023. I continue to believe that wars and conflicts stem from a sense of separation and differences… which creates a sense of fear of other humans. I wanted to create a piece that shows the beauty of the earth in a single piece. The title “One” is a reminder that we are all part of the one human race. The solution to our problems is not going to come from the thinking of “us versus them” or “this group versus that group.” The solutions come from “us and them” and “this group and that group.” I believe part of an artist’s role in society is to share messages like this: we can live together on this big beautiful Earth without needing to kill each other.
