Synchronicity V
In 2021 I made my first two Synchronicity pieces as a specific study of color and composition. I have since re-visited that study, and this piece is the fifth in the process.
The study includes working with the same limited color palette of paint as the other pieces in this series, to see the variety of composition that emerges in each piece.
The color palette uses primary colors that I have selected based on their mixing properties.
The final result of this piece is the fourth layer of paint, and the second time I called it done. The previous layer was a blue composition that I thought was done… but as with some pieces, after I look at it for weeks and months, I finally decide it’s not done, and take a risk of painting over it.
This is the final layer, a welcome departure from my mostly blue compositions of late.
This piece captures the calm presence of a sunset over water, and I hope to bring this statement of energy into a space.
