Transitions utilizes my "swiping" technique of using a 12 inch brush over thick layers of oil paint to create a thick brushed texture that reflects light differently from different angles. As you walk around this piece, the light reflects differently, giving the piece a totally different looks from any angle. This piece can be hung vertically or horizontally, depending on your preference or the space it's going in. You can also change the orientation from time to time to feel like it's a new piece. The deep blue is a signature color of mine over the last few years, and the base layer of this piece helps create a stable composition with a darker edge and lighter center.
